How This Started
My workout regimen began at a modest gym near Calle de Velázquez in Madrid. It wasn’t flawless, yet it was approachable, affordable, and it helped me stay consistent.
After it shut down, I observed rapid changes in Spain's fitness scene. New clubs opened, fresh concepts emerged, and marketing grew louder than actual member experiences.
I began trying a variety of gyms and classes, jotting notes after each visit. Those notes eventually formed this site to help others make better-informed decisions.
My Approach to Reviews
All reviews here stem from genuine visits and time spent in the facility. I emphasize practical factors that matter when selecting a membership.
When I review a fitness center, I typically:
- Spend sufficient time to grasp routines, peak periods, and trends
- Visit on different days and at different times
- Experiment with multiple training formats and trainers
- Use facilities regularly to assess cleanliness and comfort
- Converse with other members about consistency
- Take notes right after each visit
I revise reviews when meaningful changes occur: renovations, new management, price updates, or new facilities. Each entry shows its most recent update date to indicate currency.
What I Look For
My priorities may differ from yours, so here’s what matters most to me when judging a gym:
Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel genuinely well-designed for members, with respectful boundaries and a calm atmosphere?
Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there enough variety? Do things get fixed promptly?
Crowd Management: Can you actually train during your chosen time without constant waits?
Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness shows how seriously management treats the member experience.
Honest Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unpleasant surprises.
Beyond the Gym
Away from workouts and drafting, I reside in Madrid and work there. This project aims to simplify fitness decisions and provide clearer choices for people seeking the right setting.
